Road Trip to H-Town

We had two major happenings between St. Patrick's Day and Easter. First, the girls and I went to Mississippi for Holt's birthday. The camera stayed home with Rob, so I have no pictures of the wonderful, snowy weekend we spent there. The next weekend we went to the Natural Science Museum with Grandma. The magic show was a blast, but the highlight had to be the butterfly exhibit. The camera made it, so here is some pictorial evidence...

What can I say? My Texan girls love to ride.

Grandma had two butterflies land on her. Irene was impressed (and jealous).

Rob and Irene couldn't see a cave and NOT go in it.

My theory is that my kids like McDonald's so much because they only have it when they're famished and I'm desperate.

After the morning at the museum, we took a walk around Hermann Park to enjoy the exceptional weather. Mary crashed out, so Irene and I braved the paddle boats alone. We paddled under the large fountain in the middle of the lake as I thought it would be funny to get Irene all wet. The plan back fired on me. Irene got a refreshing blast of water, but I got totally soaked - and I was wearing jeans, yuk.
We finished the day off with dinner at Star Pizza (to balance out the nutrition deficit of McD's, of course). Houston's really kind of nice in small doses.
